131st Hoo-Hoo International Convention

Hosted by

Cowichan Valley Hoo-Hoo Club 229

September 8 - 11, 2023

Duncan, British Columbia, Canada

This year, 2023, the international lumber industry’s Hoo Hoo Club is hosting its convention in the magnificent Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. On the unceded territory of the Hul’q’umu’num Coast Salish First Nations, these lands promise stunning scenery and delight for all senses. Nestled between lush mountains, rushing rivers, pristine lakes, temperate rainforests and inhabited by friendly people, Cowichan is a rare treasure. Cowichan (“Quw’utsun” in Coast Salish language) means ‘The Warm Land’.

The Mediterranean climate makes this valley perfect to visit all year around. Perhaps spend an afternoon wine tasting local wines at a vineyard tour, or explore one of the many hiking trails, allowing the rich flora and fauna to rejuvenate your senses. Rent a kayak and experience the calm waters of the Strait of Georgia surrounded by breath taking views and spectacular sea life, or go on a whale safari adventure to meet the magnificent giants of the sea. You might choose to spend the day catching a vibe exploring local farmers markets, strolling through quaint boutiques and artesian stores in one of the many beautiful villages of the valley. Enjoy local delicacies and specialties at cozy cafeterias and fuel up on locally caught, locally grown cuisine in locally owned restaurants.

Learn about the history of the settlers and the First People of the valley in museums, visiting historical land marks and admire unique local indigenous art work.

Cowichan welcomes you to create unforgettable memories. We cannot wait to see you there!
